Insight BB

Welcome! The method for updating the firmware for insight is very close to what attbi users have to do. Since you use the same network it should work. I have not tested this method on insight but good luck.

Firmware 4.4.0 users go to this page once you know your tftp server ip.

Follow all of the attbi steps but change the following information.

The config file used in the attbi method is hsd1.5M.cfg (included in the firmware download) Rename the file to the correct name! Example. Instead of hsd1.5M.cfg, rename to hsdS1.cfg. You can find the name of your config file in the surfboard logs.

To find your tftp server, try going to http://sas.r31.insightbb.com and enter your account number. Read the following info on how to get your account number to work at this site.

The account number is XXXXYYYZZZZZZZAA

XXXX = 0000
YYY = City code (see below)
ZZZZZZZ, AA = the account # on your bill, like ZZZZZZZ-AA

City codes:

001 = Bloomington, IN
002 = Kokomo, IN
003 = Rockford, IL
004 = Evansville, IN
005 = Anderson, IN
006 = Louisville, KY
007 = Bowling Green, KY
011 = Champaign / Urbana, IL
013 = Peoria, IL
015 = Springfield, IL
017 = Dixon, IL
027 = Lexington, KY
028 = Covington, KY

So if you have the account number 123456-01, in Louisville, the number is = 0000006012345601.

If it's 1234567-03, in Lexington, it's 0000027123456703.

The registration code is simply your account number minus the first four zeros, so that last example is: 027123456703.

The numbers AFTER the city code need to be 9 characters long. So if your account number is 123456-01 and you lived in Louisville, following Iggy's example, your SAS account would be:

0000006012345601
Reg code:
006012345601

If your account number is already 9 characters long then disregard this.

Ok, enter your account number and reg number. It will forward you to a page telling you that your internet service is active. Look at the server the page is on. Use the ip address of that server as your tftp ip address. Use this anytime it asks for at the attbi page.

Good luck!
